Preferred Equine was established in 1989 by Geoff Stein and David Reid. Since its original inception Preferred Equine has grown to be the largest consignor in the standardbred industry with over 22,000 horses sold for a gross in excess of $500 million.
Using the expertise and experience gained in selling standardbreds, Preferred Equine has extended in to the thoroughbred industry offering consignments, brokering private deals, and offering tailored race management and breeding recommendations.
Preferred Equine officially opened its thoroughbred and bloodstock division in 2018 with Philip Antonacci, a graduate of the Godolphin Flying Start program heading growth and development. Prior to the course Philip had worked for Gai Waterhouse and Wesley Ward giving him a strong background which was supplemented by his work experience on the Godolphin Flying Start Course working for leaders of the industry like: Todd Pletcher, Mark Johnston, Newgate Farm, Doug Watson, Mick Flanagan, and Boomer Bloodstock. Philip brings a world of ideas, innovations, experience, and a vast network to the Preferred Equine Thoroughbred Division. To learn more about the venture read here.
